WVA Welcomes a new intern, Mrs Lisa Buren
WVA Welcomes a new intern, Mrs Lisa Buren, Lisa Buren is a 5th-year student of veterinary medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
During her studies, she has become an active member of both a local One Health association and the International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA). In the One Health association (Studievereniging Hygieia), as Secretary-General, she helped organise events and activities to teach vet students more about One Health and help connect students from different studies. In IVSA, she is still active both locally as President of IVSA the Netherlands and internationally as Dutch representative, former Chair of the Standing Committee on Veterinary Education (SCOVE) and upcoming Chair of the Alumni Network. Her main interested lie with large animal health and veterinary policy, in which she hopes to pursue a career in the near future. To that end, from the 1st of September to the 1st of November, she will be doing an internship at the WVA through which she will be working on various projects.
