World Veterinary Year 2011 and the focus on Rabies this year, so Rajshahi University in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Chairman Dr. Jalal Uddin Sarder initiatives to organised Rabies prevention Campaign through birth control of stray dog.
For that 24th July’2011 Narikel baria Veterinary Clinic and AI centre of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Rajshahi, Rajshahi, Bangladesh inaugurated Rabies prevention Castration and spaying operation of two dogs. The operation preside by Senior Veterinary Surgeon of Ra.

World Veterinary Day 2011 was celebrated in a grand manner by the Tirunelveli Branch of Tamil Nadu Veterinary Assistant Surgeons Association. Nearly 120 dogs were vaccinated against Rabies on that day at the Veterinary Poly Clinic, Tirunelveli.

Dr.N.Sivanandaham Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Inaugurated the function. A technical session was conducted that evening presided by the Tirunelveli Corporation Commissioner Dr.Subbaiyan M.V.Sc. A power point about "RABIES" was presented by Dr.R.Sankarasubramanian,B.V.Sc.Dr.Sankarakumar Specialist (Animal Diseases) presented about other Zoonotic diseases.

 WVA President Dr Tjeerd Jorna has announced that Myanmar would receive the World Veterinary Day Award 2011 for its successful celebration of World Veterinary Day under the theme: “Rabies”.
The announcement was made when Dr Jorna spoke at the 79th OIE General Session, held in Paris.
The prize will be presented at the World Veterinary Congress to be held in South Africa in October 2011.
Veterinary Syndicate in Duhok with cooperation of Directorate of Veterinary and the faculty of Veterinary, had celebrating the world Veterinary day on 30/04/2011 by many activities in multiple places.
In 26th there was a football game between two classes in the Faculty of Veterinary in DUHOK university, them the big event was the photographic exhibition of some old pictures for members of the Veterinary syndicate in Duhok, caricatures done by Dr. Shwan Al Kurdi, and Veterinary activities, but before that there was a speech by Dr. Diyar Tayeb the director of Veterinary in Duhok on the importance of this occasion and the modern role of vet, followed by seminar by Dr. luqman Tayeb the dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine university of Duhok, on the history of the Veterinary Syndicate in Kurdistan and Duhok. During these activities Dr.Diyar Tayeb was selected as the Vet of year 2011.
Many persons were invited and attend the WVD including HE minister of Agriculture and water recourses in the Government of Kurdistan, deputy of Governor of DUHOK province, the mayor of Duhok, Farmers, animal keepers, media reporters, and a large number of Vets. At the same day there was a dinner party for more than 400 vets in Erbil the capital of Kurdistan attended by many high ranking officials in the government.

World veterinary day was celebrated on 30th April 2011 at Sangareddy, Medak District, Andhra Pradesh Hyderabad Prof Dr P.Prabhakar Rao, Vice chancellor, Sri Venkateswara university was the chief guest. Dr S.Ramlingaraju retired CEO APLDA, Dr.M.Yogireddy, President Veterinary Council of AP, Dr.K.krishna Murthy Registrar, Veterinary Council, Dr.Shankar Reddy retired Joint Director graced the occasion and spoke . Dr Lakshma Reddy joint Director Sangareddy welcomed the gathering.
All the participants rededicated themselves by repeating the veterinarians oath.
The emphasis was on celebrating 2011 as veterinary year.

The teachers and students of College of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, India have celebrated WORLD VETERINARY DAY 2011, organised by Dr. Ch. Harikrishna, Officer-in-charge Student Activities of the college.

The inaugural function of World Veterinary Day Celebration was presided over by Dr. P. Ameer Hamza, Associate Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Hyderabad. Dr.V. Prabhakara Rao, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati, India graced the function as Chief Guest and Dr Deepak Rajpal, Sr. Scientific Investigator from Smithkline Beecham, USA delivered a guest lecture on Bio-informatics. Dr. P. A. Hamza delivered a lecture on Rabies: Prevention and Control.

Vets Care Organization Pakistan has been working for the uplift of veterinary profession since 2001. VCO has been the pioneer to introduce World Veterinary Day in Pakistan and has been regularly celebrating the WVD for last five years. 2011 is being celebrated as World Veterinary Year in reference of 250th anniversary of veterinary profession. Vets Care Organization Pakistan is marking this year with the extension of its outreach by establishing Vets Care Clubs in other veterinary institutes in Pakistan. In this connection, the World Veterinary Day 2011 has been the key occasion to celebrate the success of VCO’s work for the uplift of veterinary profession in Pakistan.

"World Veterinary Day was celebrated by Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan in collaboration with Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Board (PLDDB) and Brook Hospital, Pakistan.

Day-long celebrations started with the inauguration of an Exhibition by Mr. Mumtaz Khan Minais Ex. Minister Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sarwar, Dean Faculty of Animal Husbandry, UAF and Prof. Dr. Laeeq Akbar Lodhi, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science, UAF. All faculty members, students, general public and media representatives were also there at the time of inauguration. The exhibition having colorful stalls, paintings, awareness posters and charts was very much appreciated by visitors.
