Arunachal Pradesh Veterinary Association News / World Veterinary Day Posted by JimEdwards on Apr 29, 2008 - 09:18 PM This year we have celebrated "World Veterinary Day" with a weeklong programme of free treatment and vaccination of FMD and Swine Fever vaccine at four villages around Itanagar city, Arunachal Pradesh, India which started from 21-4-08 to 24-408. We conducted a "training on preparedness on Bird Flu epidemic" for the Rapid Response Team, Arunachal Pradesh, Forest personnel’s, Poultry farmers and poultry meat traders on 25-4-08. During the weeklong celebration we registered and vaccinated Pet Dogs with ARV. For the first time in Arunachal Pradesh (May be first time in India and World, we have implanted Microchip on Mithun (Bos frontalis). On 26-408, we invited the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Parliamentary Secretary (Principal Adviser to Chief Minister- Member of Legislative Assemble), Member of Legislative Assembly of local area, The Opposition Leader of Legislative Assembly, The Chief Secretary to Government of Arunachal Pradesh, to attend the celebration programme as Chief Guest, Chairman of programme, Special Guest, Special Invitee and Guest of Honour respectively. More than one thousand people attended the celebration programme on 26-4-08 at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun (Itanagar), Arunachal Pradesh, India, where various drug manufacturers displayed their drugs, there was demonstration of microchip implantation and pet vaccination.
