Dr Andy Carroll, Chief Veterinary Officer, Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, informed the OIE that a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) simulation exercise, called « Exercise Red Feather », will be held in Queensland from 31 August to 1 September and 22 September and 13 October 2010 .
The exercise consists of three facilitated workshops. There will be no field component.
The exercise is being conducted by Biosecurity Queensland and aims to enhance the ability of Biosecurity Queensland and the poultry industry to respond to and manage a HPAI outbreak.

Ejercicio de simulacro: Influenza aviar altamente patógena en Australia
El Dr. Andy Carroll, Jefe de los Servicios veterinarios del Ministerio de agricultura, pesca y bosques de Australia, informó a la OIE de un ejercicio de simulacro de influenza aviar altamente patógena (IAAP), denominado « Exercise Red Feather », el cual se llevará a cabo en el estado de Queensland, del 31 de agosto al 1 de septiembre, el 22 de septiembre y el 13 de octubre de 2010.
El simulacro consistirá en tres talleres coordinados. No habrá actividades de campo.
El simulacro será dirigido por Biosecurity Queensland. Tiene como objetivo mejorar la capacidad de Biosecurity Queensland y de la industria avícola para responder y manejar la aparición de un brote de infuenza aviar altamente patógena.

Le Docteur Andy Carroll, Chef des Services vétérinaires, Ministère australien de l'Agriculture, des forêts et de la pêche, a informé l'OIE qu'un exercice de simulation de l'influenza aviaire hautement pathogène (IAHP), appelé « Exercise Red Feather » sera réalisé dans l'état du Queensland du 31 août au 1er septembre, ainsi que le 22 septembre et 13 octobre 2010.
Cet exercice aura lieu sous forme de trois ateliers dirigés. Il n'y aura aucune activité sur le terrain.
Cet exercice sera dirigé par Biosecurity Queensland. Il a pour objectif d'améliorer la capacité de Biosecurity Queensland et de l'industrie avicole à répondre à l'apparition d'un foyer d'influenza aviaire hautement pathogène et à le gérer.
