The present AL Fateh University began its academic programmes with the establishment of the Faculty of Science in 1957 as part of the University of Libya, Today thanks to the will and efforts of the Great Revolution, Al Fateh University comprises 14 principle faculties in campuses A and B, two off campus faculties , four branch faculties in jiffara and four affiliated off campus colleges covering a total catchments area of approximately 100 square kilometers radius .
