The WVA Excom and WVA Council held meetings in the offices of OIE, Paris on Friday 21 May 2010.
"What is the economic value of the veterinary profession", "Where does WVA want to go?" and "What should be our priorities in the next years" are the principal questions discussed in order to prepare a 2010 - 2015 Strategy for the Presidents' Assembly (PA). Further discussion will take place in the PA the next days in order to get the strategy finalised for the WVA Cape Town PA.
The Council also worked further on the policy papers on Responsible and prudent use of Antimicrobials and Veterinary Education. The main aim is to have the policies consistent and supportive of the general WVA strategy. WVA input and goals for the next World conference on veterinary education will take place from 12-16 May, 2011, in Lyon to the second world conference.
