Considering the importance of the professional veterinarian to the social, economic and political history of Brazil, the course of Veterinary Medicine has the aim to train professionals capable of solving problems related to Animal Health and Public Health and to develop animal production. The curriculum structure proposed for the veterinary medicine course enables students to view different pathways and guide the focus of his academic training according to their area of interest. The faculty is highly qualified, composed of teachers and doctors working in various areas of veterinary medicine.

Among these thematic areas of training include: Veterinary Clinic and Surgery, Animal Science, Veterinary Preventive Medicine and Technology and Inspection of Animal Products.

The purpose of course is that the student from being able to perceive, abstract, think and build solutions to the needs of individuals, populations, social groups, societies and communities in relation to animal health and production, sanitation and the environment health surveillance, epidemiological surveillance and monitoring of health, economics and management of agribusiness, veterinary company and ecology and conservation.

The formation of the Veterinarian aims to provide the following professional competencies and skills:

Interpret clinical signs, laboratory tests and morpho-functional;
Identify and classify the etiological factors, understand and elucidate the pathogenesis, as well as prevent, control and eradicate diseases that affect animals, develop, implement and manage agricultural projects, environmental and related to the profession;
Develop, plan, guide and implement modern techniques of creation, management, nutrition, feeding, breeding, production and animal breeding;
Plan, execute, manage and evaluate programs of animal health, public health and technology products of animal origin; Run sanitary inspection and technological products of animal origin;
Plan, develop, implement, manage and participate in projects in the areas of biotechnology for breeding and organic products;
Perform skills, develop and interpret technical reports in all fields of knowledge of veterinary medicine;
Relate to various social and work in multidisciplinary teams, defense and environmental monitoring and social welfare.
