The course of Veterinary Medicine trains students to activities of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases, controlling the production of all animal food, public health, education, research and extension.

In UPIS, subjects are taught with an emphasis on medical and surgical, veterinary preventive and public health. The proposed course of Veterinary Medicine UPIS is that students have all the necessary expertise of working in clinics, farms, farmers' associations and cooperatives.

For this, the Rural Campus of UPIS has several laboratories in the area and one of the most modern veterinary hospitals in the region, which has complex laboratory animals to suit small, medium and large sizes. Thus the student can count on all the infrastructure and professionals to practice the profession.

The course of Veterinary Medicine UPIS provides solid training in the areas of medical and surgical care, vaccines and drugs, inspection of products of animal origin, prevention and control of zoonoses, public health, the study of wildlife and environmental conservation, and management of agribusiness.
