The Veterinary School of UFMG was founded in 1932. It is located in the Campus Pampulha, Belo Horizonte, MG. It comprises four departments: Veterinary Clinic and Surgery, Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Technology and Inspection of Animal Products and Animal Science, Veterinary Hospital, two experimental farms and Library, in addition to the administrative sectors and education.

The Veterinary School was founded in 1932 and since 1974 occupies its own building on Campus Pampulha, Avenida Antonio Carlos 6627, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

In an area of 7 hectares is home to four departments: Veterinary Clinic and Surgery, Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Technology and Inspection of Animal Products and Animal Science, Veterinary Hospital, Library, the administrative area and an auditorium with 365 seats.

The Departments are responsible for the disciplines of undergraduate and postgraduate students and is located in them that the lecture rooms, laboratories for practical classes and research, amphitheaters for practical classes with large and small animals, rooms for teachers and students graduate and their administrative sectors.

The administration of the School is by means of its Board, Collegiate Undergraduate and Graduate Studies, Office of Education and the entire support structure. It also has the graphic itself, to make the teaching material. Veterinary Hospital are outpatient clinics for care, operating rooms, emergency diagnostic imaging industry necropsy, kennels and stables for relocation of animals large and small.

The degree course comprises ten academic terms (5 years), which are offered in 86 disciplines. Admitted each year, 120 new students and maintains approximately 650 participating actively in academic activities that include practical work in clinics, cooperatives, farms, stores, industry and policy-makers of animal and human health.
