The Course of Veterinary Medicine, Federal Rural University of Amazonia, was created on March 16, 1973, in what was the old School of Agronomy of the Amazon, in order to provide technical training to meet regional livestock. It currently has 80 students per year with disbursements course of five years.

The Organization
The Organization of the course of Veterinary Medicine consists of the Coordinator, Deputy Coordinator, Coordinator of TCC and collegiate formed by a teacher representative from each institute responsible for the administration of courses in Travel and representatives of four students and four non-teaching servers.

The mission of the coordinating body are:
To guide, coordinate, evaluate, opinion, opinions, suggest, deliberate on issues such as: registration, full curriculum, program of courses, teaching plans, allocation of places and teaching-learning process.

Mission of the course:
Training veterinarian capable of generating and disseminating knowledge, practices, technological, scientific and cultural rights, grounded in research, social demands and needs of regional and national development, seeking the recovery of the man and his improvement in quality of life.

Profile Veterinarian:
The design of the course curriculum of Veterinary Medicine was designed recognizing an imperative to train a professional with generalist profile, their responsibility to develop regional vocations, with the preservation of ecosystems, so that the development of agriculture in the Amazon takes place priority stages of life without compromising the future of man and humanity. Furthermore, it is necessary to highlight the large and undeniable commitment of Veterinary Medicine regional food production, animal health and public health and in wealth, and higher quality of living, this profile is in line with asiretrizes curriculum established by the MEC for the professional profile of the veterinarian.
