The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Sarajevo, was founded in 1949.
Undergraduate study to acquire a university degree and professional as "a graduate veterinarian" takes five years - 10 semesters.
The school year is divided into winter and summer semester. Classes in one semester lasts at least 15 weeks. The weekly number of hours of lectures, seminars and exercises can not be less than 20 and more than 30 hours.
