The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, established in 1930, is the founder of Vyatka State Agricultural Academy (at the time - Veterinary Institute). The faculty are trained veterinarians specializing in Veterinary Medicine. Performing tasks in protecting the health of animals and humans, veterinary surgeon oversees the quality of animal products, offers treatment and prevention of animal diseases. Our graduates work in agricultural enterprises, joint-stock companies, peasant (farmers') holdings in commercial organizations, research and training facilities, veterinary clinics and laboratories, stations for animal disease control, outpatient clinics, vetuchastkah, border vetuchrezhdeniyah at meat processing plants, dairy factories, markets, zoos, circuses, at stud, and specialized facilities for the breeding of dogs, fur animals, fish, bees and other farms.
Over the years the department has produced more than 7 thousands of veterinary specialists. Among them are academics, doctors and candidates of science, heads of agricultural enterprises. 32 graduates of our department working only in the Kirov region has the honorary title "Honored veterinarian Russia." Currently, the faculty has 12 professors, doctors and 23 candidates of science, carried out post-graduate training of highly qualified specialists. By tradition, emphasis on practical training of future veterinary professionals.
