The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, established in 1979 as a branch of the faculty, received the status of an independent unit of Novosibirsk Agricultural Institute in 1982.

Professional training of students held at the Novosibirsk meat packing plant in oblastonoy veterinary laboratories, laboratories, veterinary and sanitary examination of markets in agricultural enterprises.

On the first course in 1979 was taken 56 students, and diplomas awarded to veterinarians in 1984, 48 graduates, 16 of whom received degrees with honors.

In 1999 it took 16th issue of the professional student and 2nd - correspondence. During its existence the Faculty has trained more than 850 veterinarians, 20 of them have degrees.

Faculty teachers are conducting research to develop new prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal disease of the newborn animals, effective treatment regimens and prevention of disease in young animals using immunomodulators, diagnosis and control of leukemia, to study the influence of environmental factors on the development of pathologies in domestic and wild animals, Comparative morphology of domestic and wild animals in ontogenesis, the introduction of methods to accelerate growth and development and treatment oprono motor system using plazmorala, new technologies for producing vaccines for the prevention esherihioza animals.

The team conducts scientific research in conjunction with Oxford University (UK), Institute of NICT BAS, RM "Vector", IEVSiDV SB RAAS.

Within 3 years faculty members have published over 170 works in Russia and abroad, including 6 monographs, 5 directories, 10 applications for certificates of authorship.
