The activity of the veterinary faculty began in Perm, in the Perm State University. In the late 20-ies and more insistently declared a need for a veterinary college in the Urals. Calls the city for which the feasibility of establishing such a university. The final decision was made in favor of our city. Thus, established by the decision of People's Commissars of the RSFSR of 16 December 1929 the veterinary faculty at Perm State University in 1930, moved in Troitsk.
From September 2008 to the present faculty is headed by a professor, k.v.n., SV Sirenko.
Today's name - Veterinary Medicine - Faculty received in 1999. Education is the specialty: "Veterinary" with qualifications "veterinarian".
At the Faculty of 10 departments: Anatomy and histology of farm animals; Obstetrics and artificial insemination of farm animals, the clinical diagnosis and the foundations of veterinary microbiology and virology; surgery of farm animals, pathological anatomy and pathological physiology of therapy and domestic non-communicable diseases, surgery, pharmacology and toxicology; epizootology, parasitology and organization of veterinary medicine, foreign languages.
At each department, in accordance with the profile is the research work. Successful study metabolic processes in domestic animals, it becomes clear mechanisms of action of new drugs, improved methods of treatment and prevention of animal diseases.
In the educational program includes specialization: Biology and Pathology, bees and fish, bees and fish diseases, biology and pathology of ornamental and exotic animals, veterinary and sanitary expertise and quality control of animal products, gynecology, toxicology, bacteriology and serology, veterinary surgery. Students engaged in the chosen specialization and receive the corresponding certificate. In addition, they can go further specialization in dog breeding and pathological anatomy and taxidermy.
