The Faculty was formed in 2003 to bring together departments with complementary teaching and research interests, and comprises 5 departments:
Anatomy
Biochemistry
Cellular and Molecular Medicine
Physiology and Pharmacology
Clinical Veterinary Sciences

It has 430 staff, with 1400 undergraduate and 380 postgraduate students enrolled in the Faculty, and has an annual spend of ~£60m. The Faculty exists on two main sites: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Medicine and Physiology and Pharmacology are based on the main University precinct, while Clinical Veterinary Sciences is based at Langford, 14 miles South-West of Bristol.
