CSIRO’s Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) and the Australian Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians, will be hosting the international meeting of the World Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (WAVLD) .
WALVD will be held in conjunction with a one day OIE meeting. It will provide an opportunity to discuss a whole range of issues concerning the activities of veterinary laboratories both in Australia and the risks that animal diseases pose to the livestock producer.
On day one of the meeting, the focus will be on “Global Risks and Challenges” and there will be presentation on new and emerging diseases, as well as on Zoonotic, wildlife and transboundary animal diseases.
Day two will be for the OIE and there will be a number of invited speakers talking on a range of laboratory linked OIE activities.
Day three will focus on “Preparing for the Future” and deal with issues of biosecurity and bio-safety, quality assurance and new technologies and diagnostic platforms.
