Vets Care Club UVAS working under the auspices of Vets Care
Organization Pakistan commemorated World Veterinary Day 2018 under the
theme “Role of veterinary profession in sustainable development to improve
livelihoods, food security and safety.’’ It was celebrated in universi ty campu s as acombined effort of the veterinary societies. The day commenced with anawareness walk in which a large gathering of faculty and students participated.
After that a photography competition was held in which students from different years displayed their expertise in the art. A seminar was held in which Prof. Dr.Masood Rabanni (Dean FVS and Pro-Vice Chancellor) highlighted the importanceof the sector in the country and the world. Dr. Awais Dar (Manager Livestock andPets Saadat International) delivered a lecture on the importance of veterinaryprofession and impact on society. A chain formation was done by the faculty andstudents on outfall road for the awareness of general public. Horse show wasarranged in collaboration with Mariner’s Saddle Club in which rehabilitated horseswere presented which amazed the audience with dazzling feats. Prof. Dr. Kamran
Ashraf (Senior Tutor) inaugurated the event and appreciated the efforts of the club for such noble cause. A snake show was also part of the day celebrations inwhich students were educated regarding an important balance in our ecologicalsystem yet a highly misinterpreted creature. The day concluded with kind remarksfrom Prof Dr. Kamran Ashraf (Senior Tutor) in which he applauded the efforts ofthe societies for successful execution of the event.
