The Association Veterinary Scientific Council of Cuba, Pinar del Río Filial, in cooperation with the Scientific Societies of Veterinary Parasitology and Microbiology of Cuba, invite you to attend these Conferences to be held in the city of Pinar del Río, Cuba, in February 9, 10 and 11th, 2012.
Dr. Ildefonso Pérez Vigueras was born in Pinar del Río, Cuba, in February 12th, 1892. He dedicated his life to veterinary teaching and research in Cuba and Colombia. He classified more than 50 new species. He also studied the behavior of many diseased caused by viruses and bacteria. As entomologist he recollected all Cuban species of Ixodides and Culicid, being this collection the most complete and valuable of the country. Dr. Pérez Vigueras has been considered as Cuban Veterinary Medicine Savant.
GOAL:
To evoke the memory of this notable researcher and teacher, his discoveries and researches and also to make known new elements that might enrich the knowledge of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology.
