Theme of Symposium is “Laboratory Animal Science in the New millennium – Challenges and Solutions” and sponsored by the LASAI\, NCLAS\, ICMR\, CPCSEA and FIAPO.
There will be a Workshop on Animal Experimentation – trouble shooting meant for post graduate students of Biological\, Veterinary and Pharma Sciences and other related research areas. The Workshop will follow Two Days deliberations on the current theme topics in Laboratory Animal Discipline which will be addressed by eminent speakers. Also there will be free communications (both oral and poster) for the young and upcoming Scientists and participants during the symposium.

Dr. Ildefonso Pérez Vigueras was born in Pinar del Río\, Cuba\, in February 12th\, 1892. He dedicated his life to veterinary teaching and research in Cuba and Colombia. He classified more than 50 new species. He also studied the behavior of many diseased caused by viruses and bacteria. As entomologist he recollected all Cuban species of Ixodides and Culicid\, being this collection the most complete and valuable of the country. Dr. Pérez Vigueras has been considered as Cuban Veterinary Medicine Savant.
GOAL\:
To evoke the memory of this notable researcher and teacher\, his discoveries and researches and also to make known new elements that might enrich the knowledge of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology.

The Integrative Health Risk Management Perspective\:
Today’s human health management requires to be dealt with from a holistic “One Health” perspective that acknowledges the systemic interconnections of human\, animal and environmental health in close relation with food safety and security. Only an integrative approach will ensure sustainable health management in an era of climate change\, resource depletion\, land degradation\, food insecurity and development challenges. Knowledge sharing\, education\, improved governance\, corporate responsibility and dedicated investments will be key.
