Global warming is causing extensive changes in many ecosystems. These alterations include latitudinal and altitudinal shifts in the geographic distributions of species\, changes in the seasonal timing of lifehistory events\, and alterations in food availability and food web structure. Changing ecosystems also have the capacity to strongly affect human welfare. For example\, the distribution and ecology of several species of pests and diseases of great significance to human and animal health\, agriculture\, fisheries and forestry\, are strongly influenced by climatic factors. A major question is whether evolutionary processes have the power to substantially influence the patterns and rates of species’ responses to climate change. The complexity of genetic\, physiological\, behavioral\, and ecological information required to address these issues is vast\, requiring an interdisciplinary approach.
On Sept. 1-3\, 2010\, the National Veterinary Institute\, Uppsala\, Sweden will hold an interdisciplinary conference to link research and philosophy from different fields of expertise with the objective of reviewing current understanding and proposing future action.

El Congreso Panamericano de Ciencias Veterinarias (PANVET) congrega cada dos años a los profesionales veterinarios del continente americano y corresponde a la reunión de la Asociación Panamericana de Ciencias Veterinarias.
El evento es una gran oportunidad para la profesión Médico Veterinaria\, dado que se crea un espacio de interacción entre colegas e instituciones afines\, que permite\, entre otros logros\, la generación de conclusiones técnicas que son alcanzadas a los órganos políticos de los países de la región.
En esta oportunidad se desarrollará en la ciudad Lima\, correspondiendo al Colegio Médico Veterinario del Perú la organización del XXII Congreso Panamericano de Ciencias Veterinarias 2010 (PANVET). La sede designada ha sido Sheraton Hotel &\; Convention Center\, que cuenta con las instalaciones necesarias para permitir el desarrollo adecuado del evento.
Se presentará un programa científico acorde con la importancia del Congreso\, con temática relacionada al ejercicio profesional actual de los veterinarios\, acorde con la problemática global de Seguridad alimentaria\, Sostenibilidad ambiental y Globalización económica. Para ello se realizarán Conferencias Magistrales\, Mesas Redondas\, Talleres\: así como será oportunidad de compartir los resultados de investigación generados en nuestro continente\, en la exposición de trabajos libres y posters.
